NITI Aayog, UNICEF India Sign SoI to Bolster Nutrition & Health Outcomes in Aspirational Districts and Blocks

In March 2026, the National Institution for Transforming India (NITI) Aayog signed a Statement of Intent (SoI) with United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) India to strengthen nutrition and health outcomes in Aspirational districts and blocks.
- The agreement was signed by Rohit Kumar, Additional Secretary and Mission Director, Aspirational Districts and Blocks Programme, NITI Aayog and Arjan de Wagt, Deputy Representative of UNICEF India.
Key Details of SoI:
Objectives: The partnership aims to improve maternal and child nutrition in underserved areas while strengthening multi-stakeholder collaboration and implementation of nutrition and health interventions at the block level.
Focus Areas: Strengthening Anganwadi infrastructure, improving nutrition literacy, enhancing uptake of ICDS services and capacity-building of frontline workers.
Key Role: Through IMPAct4Nutrition (I4N) platform, UNICEF India will offer technical assistance and support engagement with businesses, public sector enterprises and industry partners to mobilize Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) investment into nutrition-focused initiatives.
