ACC Re-appoints Dr. Rajeev Singh Raghuvanshi as Drugs Controller General of India
In March 2026, the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) chaired by Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi, approved the reappointment of Dr. Rajeev Singh Raghuvanshi as Drugs Controller General (India) (DCGI) at the Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation (CDSCO).

Extension Period: The reappointment has been made on a contract basis for a further period of 1 year with effect from (w.e.f.) March 01, 2026, or till the appointment of a regular incumbent to the post, or until further orders, whichever is the earliest.
Tenure Extension: He was initially appointed as DCGI on 23 February 2023, and the current reappointment marks his second tenure extension, after his term was earlier extended until February 2026.
