World Obesity Day 2026 – March 4
World Obesity Day (WOD) is observed annually across the globe on 4th March to highlight the global obesity crisis, promote public health reforms, reduce stigma, and encourage collective action to prevent and manage obesity.

  • March 4, 2026 marks the 12th observance of WOD.
  • 2026 Theme: “8 Billion Reasons to Act on Obesity.

Background:
Establishment: WOD was established in 2015 by the World Obesity Federation (WOF) as an annual campaign to promote healthy weight management and reduce global obesity.
Observance: The first WOD was observed on 11 October 2015 and continued on the same date until 2019.
