National Safety Day 2026 – March 4
National Safety Day (NSD) is observed annually on 4 March across India to highlight the importance of safety measures in preventing workplace accidents and to promote a strong safety culture through adherence to safety guidelines.

  • The day also marks the beginning of the National Safety Week Campaign, which is observed nationwide from 4 to 10 March every year.
  • Theme: “Engage, Educate & Empower People to Enhance Safety”

Background:
Declaration: In 1972, the NSC designated 4 March as NSD, launching a nationwide campaign to raise awareness about safety standards and practices.
First Observance: The first NSD was also observed on March 4,1972.
