NSIL and Dhruva Space sign MoU for solar panel collaboration
In April 2026, NewSpace India Limited (NSIL), the commercial arm of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with aerospace company Dhruva Space Private Limited to forge a collaboration in the design, manufacture, testing, and supply of solar panels for global satellite manufacturers.
Key Details of MoU: 
Key Role: This strategic partnership will enable Dhruva Space to use NSIL’s programme management and product assurance expertise to scale manufacturing of space-grade solar panels.
NSIL: It is a wholly owned Government of India (GoI) company, established on 6 March 2019 under the Companies Act, 2013, functioning under the Department of Space (DoS) and responsible for producing, assembling, and integrating launch vehicles with industry support.
Market Growth: According to the Space Solar Cells Market Report 2026, the market is expected to grow from USD 1.38 billion in 2025 to USD 1.55 billion in 2026, at a Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) of 12.3%.
