"Future faking" is a manipulative tactic when a person makes huge promises about a shared future, like marriage or moving in together, while dating, but shows no intention towards making that promise a reality. "Future faking often creates emotional highs followed by doubt or confusion," explained Dr Sakshi Mandhyan, psychologist and founder at Mandhyan Care.
