According to NFHS data, cesarean deliveries in public hospitals declined from 15.5% in 2016 to 14.3% in 2021. In private hospitals, the rate rose from 45.4% to 47.5% during the same period. Telangana and J&K reported the highest rates of cesarean deliveries, while Bihar, Jharkhand and UP low prevalence for cesarean deliveries in public hospitals.
