Thousands of dinosaur footprints found near Winter Olympics venue
Thousands of dinosaur footprints dating back over 200 million years have been discovered on a near-vertical rock face in Italy’s Stelvio National Park. Stretching nearly five kilometres, the tracks were found near Bormio, a 2026 Winter Olympics venue in northern Lombardy. Experts believe the Triassic-era tracks were left by long-necked herbivores, likely plateosaurs, on ancient tidal flats.
