TMC national general secretary Abhishek Banerjee called Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar "Vanish Kumar" over voter deletions during the SIR exercise. "He's a magician. He can make living beings disappear...and make the dead walk. He is now 'Vanish Kumar'," Banerjee said. Kumar cut short his Odisha visit on December 28 after his father was involved in a serious accident.
