Congress MP Jairam Ramesh criticised the Centre after Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi claimed Beijing's role in mediating the India-Pakistan standoff earlier this year. "Chinese claims of having mediated between India and Pakistan are concerning - not...because they contradict what our people...have been led to believe, but because they seem to make a joke of our national security," he said.
