German Defence Minister Boris Pistorius said they should be responsible for their own security as US announced the decision to withdraw 5,000 troops from Germany. "Europeans must take on more responsibility for our own security. Germany is on the right track," he added. This comes after German Chancellor Friedrich Merz said Iran was "humiliating US" in peace negotiations.
