The government is likely to scrap mandatory registration for non-monetised social-skill games and esports, Business Standard reported. Such games will also be treated as "deemed approved" by the Online Gaming Authority of India. The authority will investigate "only if there are complaints or instances of unfair or illegal practices in a game or a gaming company", an official said.
