Maha Congress leader calls Tipu Sultan 'great warrior' like Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, booked

Harshwardhan Sapkal, Maharashtra Congress chief, said Tipu Sultan waged war against the British. "Tipu Sultan was a great warrior...We should view Tipu Sultan as equivalent to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj," he stated. Sapkal has been booked over his remarks after a complaint by BJP leader Dhiraj Ghate who stated that Sapkal's remarks were provocative and hurt religious sentiments.
