An ancient Ramalingeshwara temple in Shingatalur village, Gadag, was vandalised on Mahashivaratri. Miscreants damaged Shiva linga base, defaced Nandi idol and disfigured Goddess Honnattemma idol. Villagers discovered destruction during morning prayers after preparing temple for the festival. The incident sparked anger and grief among devotees, who demanded strict action against those responsible.
