The European Commission warned Meta that its policy blocking rival AI chatbots, including ChatGPT and Perplexity, from the WhatsApp Business API may violate EU antitrust rules by harming competition in the AI market. A Meta spokesperson said the EU doesn't need to intervene, adding that users can access AI chatbots on other platforms. Meta updated its terms in January.
