The Supreme Court on Monday, during West Bengal SIR hearing, said, "We will not allow any impediment to the SIR process. This must be understood by all states." Notably, CM Mamata Banerjee had claimed that micro-observers are allowed to delete names while sitting in office and stated that SIR is meant to "bulldoze" people of Bengal.
