A NASA study suggested that asteroid 2024 YR4 could hit the Moon in 2032, potentially causing visible flashes and intense meteor activity in Earth’s skies. Discovered on December 27, 2024, the 200-foot asteroid still has a 4.3% chance of lunar impact, NASA said. A 2025 study said such a collision would release energy equal to 6.5 million tons of TNT.
