ACC Appoints Vir Vikram Yadav as Director General of DGCA
On March 31, 2026, the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) appointed Vir Vikram Yadav, a 1996-batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of Odisha cadre, as the Director General (DG) of the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), under the Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA), as part of a senior-level bureaucratic reshuffle.

- He succeeded Faiz Ahmed Kidwai, who has been appointed as Additional Secretary in the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) under Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions(MoPP&P).

Experience: He has held key administrative positions in both state and central governments, gaining extensive experience in governance, policy implementation, and regulatory administration.
Previous Position: Prior to this appointment, he served as Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC).
